Lemon RVs

Did you buy a new RV under warranty, expecting to spend many pleasant years traveling around the country, but ended up with a RV that is always in the shop? Is the RV still not fixed after multiple repair attempts and/or months of time wasted in the repair shop?

You think you have a lemon but the dealer or manufacturer incorrectly told you that the lemon law does not apply to RVs and that they are out of luck. That is not true – the Lemon Law does apply to RVs.

Both the Federal and California Lemon Law protect RV owners. If the manufacturers or its dealers have been unable to fix your RV within a reasonable number of attempts or a reasonable amount of time, you may have a lemon law claim and be able to get your money back or a replacement RV.

Lemon Law for RVs is a specialty legal area/subject. There are usually multiple warranties on the RV. For a class A and C motor home, you could have separate warranties from different manufacturers for the coach/house portion, the chassis, the engine, the transmission, and the generator. On top of that, you are likely to have separate warranties for each of the different appliances in the coach. In addition, there are components on an RV, such as slide-outs, black tanks, the grey tanks, roofs, walls, and shore power vs generator power, which only a RVer or an experienced Lemon Law RV attorney would understand.
